Cummins Becoming Big Player in Hydrogen Transition; Cummins, a name synonymous with diesel engines, is making a name for itself in the hydrogen economy.
Cummins is producing a hydrogen version of its popular B6.7 engine. That engine is the base for the 6.7L Cummins inline 6-cyl. turbodiesel used today in the Ram pickup from Stellantis. The engine is found in the 2500/3500/4500/5500 Heavy Duty lineup of pickups.
When Stellantis introduced the all-new Ram at CES 2023 last month, the company said a future heavy-duty derivative would have a hydrogen powertrain.

Honda to start producing new hydrogen fuel cell system co-developed with GM
Honda will target annual sales of around 2,000 units of the new system in the middle of this decade, the company said on Thursday, aiming to boost that to 60,000 units per year in 2030.
The Japanese carmaker is seeking to expand the use of its new system not only for its own fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), but also commercial vehicles such as heavy trucks, as stationary power stations and in construction machinery.

Linde to Increase Green Hydrogen Production in California
Linde will build, own and operate the first of several planned five-megawatt PEM (proton exchange membrane) electrolyzers to increase its hydrogen capacity. Following this initial investment, the new electrolyzer together with the existing plant will produce enough green hydrogen to avoid up to 75,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions per year. Expected to start up in the second half of 2024, the new electrolyzer is one of several green hydrogen projects Linde is planning across the United States.

Lieutenant Governor Kounalakis Joins SoCalGas to Unveil First-of-its-Kind [H2] Innovation Experience
Southern California Gas Co. (SoCalGas) Chief Executive Officer Scott Drury was joined today by Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis to unveil and officially power on the [H2] Innovation Experience ([H2]IE), North America's first-of its kind, clean, renewable hydrogen microgrid and home. The [H2] Innovation Experience offers a look at how clean, renewable hydrogen microgrids can reliably power entire neighborhoods, day and night throughout the year. This type of clean hydrogen microgrid has the potential to deliver reliable and renewable energy around-the-clock to more than 100 homes, rain or shine, for as much as seven days.
